Framing Master Works of Art
Picasso, Warhol, Matisse, Chagall, Rembrandt, Durer, Miro, Dali, Lichtenstein, Matta, Lam, Tamayo, Grand Wood, Thomas Hart Benton and Leroy Neiman, are just a few of the well listed artists that serious collectors, galleries and museums have brought to us for framing.
With over 30 years of working with rare and fine art we know just about everything about appropriate conservation framing for protection and preservation. And the styles we can recommend range from the minimalist modern gallery look favored for contemporary art and photography to the classical Victorian and renaissance styles often chosen for impressionists and early 20th century modern works. And when you specify conservation framing, every protection is put into place to insure that the framing is completely reversible so that if you wish to remove the work from the framing in the future your work will look as perfect as when you brought it to us.
Acid free matting and backing are standard for all of our framing. In addition you can recommend a "frame seal" to protect from natural chemicals found in wooden frames and their finishes. We recommend the use of Japanese rice paper hinges which are generally considered by conservators as the most benign form of attaching artwork to matting and backings, especially when working with antique or fragile works on paper.
It is always best to call ahead with when important works need to be framed so that we can provide the attention your work deserves.
